Introduction

NL Agency came about in early 2010 through a merger of EVD, Netherlands Patent Office (Octrooicentrum Nederland) and SenterNovem. The activities of NL Agency are divided into five thematic divisions:

  • NL Energy and Climate Change
  • NL EVD International
  • NL Innovation
  • NL Environment
  • NL Patent Office
The former CROSS agency, which was focused on educational reform in Central and Eastern Europe, is now part of IPS-CROSS, an unit within the NL Agency EVD International, which is part of the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs IPS-CROSS is carrying out the Matra Training for European Cooperation (MTEC). The programme's objective is to train senior public officials on matters relevant to joining the European Union (EU) or, for the new member states, to become fully integrated in the political framework of the EU. A second objective is to create long lasting networks between the participants in these programmes.
